Reflection by Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades

Lighting of the Christmas Tree and Blessing of the Luminarias
A lighted tree will remain up inside the Cathedral during the Advent and holiday season for individuals to visit and pray for their loved ones.

Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.

Remember your loved one with a Luminaria

Luminaria purchases are now closed.

Just as tradition has it that luminarias lit the way for Mary and Joseph in their search for lodging in Bethlehem, so too will luminarias light the walkway in the Cathedral Plaza during the service. Each luminaria bag with its flickering flameless candle will represent the light of a departed loved one and will include the name of your loved one printed on the bag.

All proceeds from the purchase of the luminarias will benefit Catholic Charities Fort Wayne-South Bend.

Details to come.
