The Office of Family Life coordinates various pro-life projects in the diocese. Among them are:

• The activities of Respect Life Month every October
  • Parish materials
  • A Red Mass for the legal profession at Notre Dame
• Annual March for Life trip to Washington, D.C.
• The diocesan legislative action network

… and other events and activities geared towards Catholic youth and laity. 2011 March for Life In coordination with the Office of Youth Ministry that will be hosting a bus from the Fort Wayne area, the Office of Family Life will be hosting two or three buses from the South Bend area. The buses are for high school students at St. Joe HS or Marian, as well as high school students in area parish youth groups. The cost is only $135 for students and $50 for chaperones. Tentative Schedule for the South Bend Buses January 21-24, 2012

Saturday, January 21st

o 7 PM  Arrive at St. Joe HS or Marian HS, load, depart and drive through the night

Sunday, January 22nd

o 9 AM Bus arrives in D.C. and drops group off at the Washington Mall o 2:15 PM Bus pick-up to go to St. Matthew Cathedral  for 3 PM Mass with Bishop Rhoades o After Mass, board bus for St. James Parish in Falls Church, VA to spend the night o Pizza party o Fellowship, games, music, movie

Monday, January 23rd

o 7 AM  Bus picks up group for Youth Rally & Mass for Life o Rally on the Mall and March for Life o Meet at Union Station for dinner and departure o Drive through the night

Tuesday, January 24th

o Arrive early AM for pick-up

What to Bring on the Trip

Money for fast-food meals (approximately $30) plus extra money, if desired, for souvenirs Snacks for bus trip and things to do on bus (there are lights on the bus so you will be able to read) Sleeping bag, pillow and toiletries for overnight in St. James Parish Warm coat, hat, scarf, gloves, and boots for outdoor events (it will likely be cold and may be snowing!)
