What is Love? – Dr. John Cavadini – Listen (MP3)
John C. Cavadini is associate professor in the Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame, having served as Chair of the Department from 1997-2010. He is also the McGrath-Cavadini Director of the Institute for Church Life. His main areas of research and teaching are in patristics, that is, the theology of the early church, with a special focus on the theology of St. Augustine, and on the biblical spirituality of the Fathers of the Church. He has published extensively in these areas, as well as in the theology of miracles, the life and work of Gregory the Great, catechetical theology, the theology of marriage, etc. In November, 2009, he was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to a five-year term on the International Theological Commission and was also created a member of the Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great, classis civilis, by Pope Benedict. He has served as a consultant to the USCCB Committee on Doctrine since 2006.

God’s Love for Us – Bishop Kevin Rhoades – Listen (MP3)
Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades is the 9th Bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. He was ordained a priest in 1983, ordained the Bishop of Harrisburg, PA in 2004, and installed as our bishop in 2010. Bishop Rhoades served as a professor and then rector of Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland from 1995 to 2004. He is active on several committees of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), serving as chair of the USCCB Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life, and Youth and as chair of the USCCB Task Force on Catholic Health Care. Bishop Rhoades has also been appointed by the Vatican as co-chair of the International Theological Dialogue of the Catholic and Reformed Churches.

Our Love for God – Dr. David Fagerberg
David W. Fagerberg is associate professor in the Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame, and senior advisor to the Notre Dame Center for Liturgy. After completing several Master’s programs, he earned his PhD from Yale University. He reads and writes about liturgical studies, sacraments, and liturgical theology. His books include Theologia Prima: On Liturgical Theology, The Size of Chesterton’s Catholicism, and coming this spring is On Liturgical Asceticism.

Our Love for Others – Dr. Anita Houck
“Making Sense of Single: Spirituality for Your Present and Future”
Anita Houck is associate professor and chair of the Department of Religious Studies at Saint Mary’s College. She earned a doctorate from the University of Chicago Divinity School, a Masters in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a bachelors from Wesleyan University. Her areas of expertise include humor/laughter, single life, and spirituality verses religion.

Mardi Gras Party!
Trivia, beads, king’s cakes, and more! Close out the series with this fun celebration before our Lenten fasting begins the following day on Ash Wednesday.
