Our Lady of the Angels Oratory (2610 New Haven Ave., Fort Wayne, IN)
Join the Franciscan Brothers Minor as they lead a time of sacred prayer. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:00am, followed by a Holy Hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the Rosary, and a reflection by Father David Mary on Mary’s place in our Catholic faith. Confessions will be offered upon request.

November 11- Game Night- The St. Vincent’s group came together for a game night and enjoyed food, fun and fellowship!
October 22- Mass, Meal, & St. Vincent’s Haunted Forest- the St. Vincent group along with other young adults in the area met for Mass at St. Vincent’s and then headed to Cebolla’s for a tasty meal. Afterward they went to the St. Vincent’s Haunted Forest.

June 10-Cosmic Bowling- the St. Elizabeth group gathered for this fun event at the Lake Avenue location.
May 26-Rediscover Caththolicism-the St. Elizabeth Young Adult Group started a series by Matthew Kelly called, “Passion & Purpose”.
May 19- Theology on Tap- Approximately thirty-five young adults from the Fort Wayne side of the Diocese gathered for the first Theology on Tap of the season. Downtown Fort Wayne’s restaurant “Calhoun Street Soups, Salads, & Spirits” was the location for the event. Dr. Gloria Dodd, DST, gave a presentation on Marian Apparitions and explained the processes by which the Catholic Church determines whether or not an apparition is approved. Photos
May 12- Tin Caps Game- the St. Elizabeth group along with other young adults enjoyed a night of watching baseball at Parkview Field
April 12- Young Adult Reconciliation-was held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (1122 S. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, IN) from 6:00pm-11:00pm. This was an opportunity for young adults to receive the sacrament during lent. There was no service. It was just a chance for young adults to experience the healing power of forgiveness.
April 17-Six Church Passion Walk- it began at St. Joseph Church in South Bend, then processed to St. Patrick, St. Hedwig, St. Augustine and St. Stanislaus, and ended with the celebration of Mass at Holy Cross Church at There was a reception with Bishop Rhoades afterward. April 8-9- Hearts on Fire Retreat- at the Sacred Heart Parish Center in South Bend- this retreat was set up to introduce young adults to practical ways of connecting their faith to everyday life through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Young Jesuit priests and scholastics (seminarians) conducted the retrat. Free overnight accommodations were provided along with free childcare.
March 24- Theology on Tap Planning Meeting-at Columbia Street West a group of young adults gathered in a meeting to begin a new Theology on Tap Planning Committee. These young adults will be taking the lead in planning future Theology on Taps. They will be selecting topics, inviting speakers, helping in the publicity, hospitality, etc.
March 24- Pro Life Message by Bishop Emeritus John D’Arcy- at IPFW Bishop Emeritus D’Arcy gathered with members of the Newman Catholic fellowship and other interested students, faculty and guests to proclaim a Gospel of Life message.
March 7-April 18th- Your Lenten Journey and Beyond: Rediscovering Catholicism- young adults came together every Monday evening at the Cathedral during lent to discuss Matthew Kelly’s book, “Rediscovering Catholicism”. They engaged in faith sharing and encouraged and challenged one another to live a more faith-filled, Christ-centered Catholic lifestyle.
February 17th-University Religious Forum: ”The Christian Mosaic-Understanding Catholicism”. At IPFW college students, faculty and guests listened to Bishop Emeritus John M. D’Arcy give an overview of Catholicism. He addressed many misconceptions about the Catholic faith in his talk and answered questions afterward.
January 16, 2011-Day of Reflection in Mishawaka- young adults gathered at the St. Francis Convent in Mishawaka, IN for a day of reflection. The theme was, “Choices, Choices… Discerning God’s Will in Our Lives”. The speaker was Father Phil Hurley, SJ.
November 22-24, 2010- Service Project- young adults joined in with the Franciscan Center, Associated Churches of Fort Wayne, MAGIC 95.1 and WLDE FUN 101.7 to collect food and medical supplies for the needy in our community. They volunteered in 3 hr time slots with various items, including loading and unloading items.
Saturday, November 6-Service Project-some young adults gathered at the at Villa of the Woods Senior Residential Living area to rake leaves.
Thursday, November 4-Theology on Tap- “Ars Celebrandi: The Art of Celebrating the Mass” presented by Fr. Andrew Budzinski, Parochial Vicar, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Thursday, October 21-Theology on Tap- “The New Translation of the Roman Missal: New Words, Deeper Meaning, Same Mass”- Speaker: Brian MacMichael, Director of the Office of Worship, Fort Wayne/South Bend Diocese.
Thursday, October 14- Bowling- the St. Elizabeth group and other young adults enjoyed a bowling night out at Georgetown Bowl
Thursday, October 7-Theology on Tap-”Origins of Scripture”- Speaker: Marilyn Fech, Theology Teacher at Bishop Luers High School.
Saturday, October 2-Women’s Conference- young adults were invited to this event, sponsored by the Office of Spiritual Development. This was a faith-filled day at the University of St. Francis. Special guest speaker Teresa Tomeo gave her witness talk and how to do a spiritual makeover. Bishop Kevin Rhoades celebrated Mass and spoke about the great dignity of women.
Saturday, September 25th, 2010- Service Day with the Franciscan Brothers Minor- Close to 50 young adults from Fort Wayne area parishes gathered at Our Lady of Angels Oratory, formerly St. Andrew Church, to assist the Franciscan Brothers Minor. The group celebrated Mass and then volunteered for various moving, clean up and demolition tasks. Afterwards hotdogs and brats were grilled and potluck items were provided for nourishment.
Friday, September 17th-Feast of the Stigmata of St. Francis- We joined the Franciscan Brothers Minor to honor this special feast day. The event began with Mass and was followed by a social.

Thursday, July 8, 2010-Putt Putt- St. Elizabeth’s Young Adults played miniature golf at the “Back Nine”.
Thursday, June 24, 2010 – Visit to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church – St. Elizabeth’s Young Adult Group made a visit to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church because many didn’t know what an Orthodox church was like.
Tuesday, June 22, 2010- Watching Baseball with the Bishop- Bishop D’Arcy invited all the Fort Wayne Young Adults to join him at the Midwest League All-Star game at Parkview Field. It was an opportunity for young adults to spend time to relax and enjoy a fun evening with the Bishop.

Thursday, May 13, 2010- Tin Caps Game- St. Elizabeth’s Young Adult Group invited other young adults to join them for this fun night at the ball park.
Wed., May 5, 2010- Jason Evert spoke on “SexYOUality” and “Valuing the Gift”- Jason is a staff apologist with Catholic Answers. Jason presented the truth and power of the gift of human sexuality in an honest and direct way, challenging teens and young adults to live authentic chastity. This talk was open to the youth and young adults of our diocese.
Bishop’s Retreat – April 9,10,11, 2010 – This was a weekend at Pokagon State Park. It was an opportunity for young adults to draw aside from the demands of everyday life and spend time with God, seeking His wisdom in their life. It was a time of listening to dynamic talks, experiencing the sacraments, gathering with friends, making new ones, having fun and simply allowing God to refresh one’s body, soul, and spirit.
Thursdays, Feb 18 – Mar 25, 2010 – Small Faith Sharing Group – A diocesan small faith sharing group met during Lent at the Cathedral Center and discussed the upcoming Sunday readings and how the messages related to their lives.
