The Apostolate operates “The Life Center” and houses a number of pro-life, pro-marriage and family ministries designed to bring Church teachings to the culture. The Life Center also houses the Chapel of Divine Mercy which conducts regular Masses and adoration that serve as the lifeblood for all of the other ministries. In conducting works of mercy by helping those in crisis and bringing the Church’s teachings on life, marriage and the family to the culture, the Apostolate utilizes a charism that embodies the methods of modern saints such as Mother Teresa. On Mother Teresa’s canonization (9-12-16), Bishop Rhoades “Entrusted” the Apostolate to Mother Teresa.

The Inner City Hope Corporation, a non-profit, all volunteer organization sponsors Miss Virginia’s Food Pantry. Open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the food pantry provides supplemental grocery assistance to over 900 families and households each week. Through the Balanced and Nutritional Food Program the pantry provides healthy food items such as meat, canned fruits and vegetables, eggs, bread and fresh produce.

The Thrift Store is Fort Wayne’s center for collection and sales of working appliances, clean furniture, clothing and household goods and free distribution of those items to the poor. The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County is an association of Catholic lay men and women devoted to the spiritual growth of its members and person to person service with the poor. The St. Joseph Country District incorporates 19 conferences, representing 23 Catholic parishes, Marian and St. Joseph High Schools and Holy Cross College. SVDP operates emergency programs for food, clothing and financial assistance.
