The
Christian
Married Love Program
Christian
Married Love is a Catholic marriage preparation
program offered by the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. The Office of
Family Life coordinates this program in two ways. First, the office conducts
training sessions for parish host couples who in turn prepare engaged
couples within their own homes. Secondly, the office conducts a one day session (9 AM to 3 PM) on various Saturdays throughout the year. For 2008 the dates are March 1 (FW), March 15 (SB), April 19 (FW), May 17 (SB, June 14 (FW), October 11 (SB) and November 15 (FW). For more information
or for an application for a Day for the Engaged, please call the office
at (574) 234-0687 and ask for Helen.
Christian
Married Love program materials consist
of four half-hour video tapes which feature Bishop D'Arcy as the
host of the series, a handbook for engaged couples (pictured here)
and a manual for priests and host couples. Each of the videos has
two segments (eight segments in all) which correlate with the eight
segments contained in the handbook for engaged couples. These are:
-
The Meaning of Married Love
- Challenges to Married Love
- Communication
and Intimacy in Marriage
- Roles and Responsibilities
in Marriage
- The Gift of Sexuality
- The
Gift of Children Christian
- Marriage
as a Sacrament
- The Christian Family as
the Church of the Home
For those outside the diocese, program
materials may be purchased directly from Our Sunday Visitor
at 1-800-348-2440.
