FORT WAYNE — On Sat., June 3, 2017, Deacon Eric Russell Burgener and Deacon Dennis Michael Di Benedetto will be ordained to the Sacred Priesthood of Jesus Christ. The ordination will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and will be live streamed. The live stream will be accessible on the diocesan Facebook , Twitter , and YouTube Channels. The ordination video will also be available to watch after the ordination is complete.
Theology of the Body training for youth ministers
FORT WAYNE — Those who minister to young people in our Diocese are invited to a training day with Ascension Press’ new high school program YOU: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body. YOU introduces teens to the truth that life is not all about them, it is about going out of themselves to be a sincere gift for others. Training will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Archbishop Noll Catholic Center, 915 South Clinton Street, Fort Wayne IN. The $35.00 registration fee per person includes a YOU: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body Leader’s Guide, training handouts, continental breakfast, and a boxed lunch. Liturgical Minister Mornings of Reflection
The diocesan Office of Worship will be hosting "Mornings of Reflection" for liturgical ministers on Saturday, June 24, at the following times and locations.
Fort Wayne area: Saturday, June 24, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, at St. Charles Borromeo Church (4916 Trier Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46815) | South Bend area: Saturday, June 24, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, at St. Joseph Church in Mishawaka (225 South Mill Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544) Led by diocesan seminarians, these events can serve as an annual retreat for diocesan extraordinary ministers and lectors, although anybody is welcome to attend. WARSAW — Alpha Training (provided by ALPHA USA) Please join us on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 8am-3:30pm at Sacred Heart Parish in Warsaw for Alpha training provided by ALPHA USA. Mass for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
FORT WAYNE — A Mass for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will take place Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 11;30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. All are welcome and an ASL interpreter will be present. This Mass is co-sponsored by the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Ministry for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing under the Office of Evangelization. Masses for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing take place the second Sunday of each month: July 9, Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12, and Dec. 10. Holy Spirits Pilgrimage on the Bourbon Trail
The Abbey of Gethsemani, the Cistercian monastery where Thomas Merton was a monk, is nestled in the heart of the Bourbon Trail, the historical epicenter of bourbon production. Young adults, age 21-39, come "renew your spirit" on this pilgrimage which will explore the intersection of faith and culture, sacred and profane, spiritual and physical refreshment. The pilgrimage runs Friday-Sunday, July 7-9. Registration fee includes transportation from South Bend/Fort Wayne, lodging, preparation materials, all activities, and some meals. GRANGER — This 5-week series consisting of 4 weeks of Catholic speakers followed by a social event is returning to St. Joseoh County! This event is open to all young adults in their 20s and 30s, single and married. Session dates are July 11, 18, 25, August 1 & 8. Synod 2018: Complete this survey!
In 2018, bishops from around the world will convene for an Extraordinary Synod on Young People, the Faith, & Vocational Discernment. The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend is asking youth, young adults, parents, staff, & priests to fill out a survey so that the experiences of our young people can be shared with Pope Francis and the synod bishops.
