Adult Faith Formation

Alpha

The Alpha Course is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Alpha focuses on the Kerygma, the proclamation of the saving death and resurrection of Jesus to evoke a personal faith in Jesus and conversion of life. Alpha was first developed as a short course at Holy Trinity Brompton Anglican Church in London, England. In 1990 Nicky Gumbel took over running Alpha and found that many people outside of the church wanted to explore the Christian faith. Alpha now runs in every part of the global church, including the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church and all mainline Protestant denominations. Over 29 million people have tried Alpha in 169 countries, and it has been translated into 112 different languages.

Why Catholic?

Catholics often face opportunities to share their faith with others, but lack the basic knowledge and confidence to do so. Why Catholic? has a rich scriptural and catechetical approach that gives a solid foundation for every Catholic to express their faith and be able to reach out to others in faith.   Click here to read more
